All Kinds of Different Bats

A bat's predator is a barn owl. So if the barn owl sees a bat it will try to eat the bat. Only Megabat uses echolocation to find its food in the dark. A vampire bat drinks blood from a cow to stay alive. The fisheating bat ets fish. The fish eating bat hides under a branch. Every Microbat uses echolocation in the dark. The echolocation bounces off something and the bat knows what it is. If it is a moth or a fly then the bat will try to catch it. If it is a tree or something else that's hard it will turn just in time before it hits that thing.

The Brown Bat

The brown bat was eating a bug. Another bat was coming near. They both swooped and they caught another bug. An owl was coming near them. The bats said, "We should hide." "But where?" said one bat. They flew fast and hid in a tree. The end.

Bats

There are two kinds of bats, megabats and microbats, but there are one thousand species. The microbats use echolocation, Megabats use eyesight and smell. The bat's wing is made of skin and bone. It's like you stretching the skin in between your bones and fingers. Bats are something called nocturnal. That's because they sleep during the day and are awake at night. Bats are the only flying mammals. The only megabat that uses echolocation is the Flying Fox. The Bumblee Bat is the smallest bat. They call it the Bumblebee bat because it's as big as a bumbleebee. The biggest bat is as big as the average bathtub. The fruit bat eats fruit or sucks pollen. The interesting bats are the fish-eating bats. Fish-eating bats swoop down in the water and catch fish.
