Our dome style observatory has many benefits including stray light and wind protection. The fiberglass construction provides good internal temperature control and is an excellent choice for dry and moist environments.  Inside, the dome is painted black which greatly reduces stray light and preserves dark adaptation. The observatory base is 7 feet in width and can comfortably accommodate three observers. The walls and dome are 1/8 thick fiberglass,  painted with a white gel-coat paint. The dome interior surface is gel-coated satin black to reduce reflection of light. The shutter is 20 inches wide and provides full view from horizon to zenith. The dome can be rotated with one hand with minimal effort.

The Observatory is powered by a dedicated 120V AC 15 AMP GFI protected circuit. Two10BaseT lines provided network connectivity
