CLASS PROCEDURES
STARTING REHEARSAL - YOU HAVE 3 MINUTES
AFTER THE BELL RINGS TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
* get
out your instrument and music
* store
your case and all books in your instrument cubby if you have one, or under your
chair.
* quickly
take your assigned seat
* check
the board and get your music in order on your stand
* have
a pencil at your stand at all times
* warm
up your instrument with soft, long tones, scales, lip slurs for brass, stick
warm ups for percussion
ALL WARM-UPS, CONVERSATION, AND NOISE WILL STOP WHEN MR. MILLER SIGNALS THAT CLASS IS GOING TO BEGIN.
DURING REHEARSAL:
* listen
and hear all comments and questions
* look
and see any gesture made by the conductor
*
be able to repeat any comment, question, direction, or answer made by anyone in
the room pertaining to the rehearsal
* stay
in you assigned seat until dismissed or until you have permission to move
* make
opportunities not excuses
END OF REHEARSAL - YOU WILL BE GIVEN
THREE MINUTES AT THE END OF APPROPRIATE REHEARSALS:
* know
what will be going on the next day
* put
your instrument and music away as assigned
* percussion
instruments, mallets and sticks should be in order in the cabinet
* all
will return to their assigned seat and wait for the teacher to dismiss the
class
