Looking ahead, we need girls for the fall season so if you're currently in middle school (8th grade or younger) and would be interested in playing for us in the fall, get in touch!
Who are we?
"GOFC" (or "Goal Oriented Futbol Club") or ( "GO FC!" as we say) currently plays at the U14 level in the fall and spring sessions in the Greater Stark League ("G.S.C.A.S.L.") and U14 indoor soccer over the winter at Diamond and/or The Sportdome. We also have a high school team that plays indoors at The Sportdome over the winter and outdoor during the spring.
Where are we?
Our worldwide headquarters (i.e. my house) are located in Canton / Plain Township but we accept girls from wherever. We play locally, we practice locally.
What are we?
We are a “traveling team” soccer club for girls (both indoor and outdoor).
Why are we?
Now that’s a very good question and requires a decent answer! In a nutshell we are trying to help those girls that either wouldn’t get a chance to play for an established club or are not willing or able to make that step up to a higher level of soccer...our #1 aim is to help girls to not only better their skills but to enjoy soccer in a fun environment...it can be done, and we do it! In all seriousness some of the best players in local high schools have gone through our program! I need to stress that results are important but they are NOT our #1 priority...we want the kids to learn, to improve, to be sporting, to have fun, to be better prepared for high school and to be proud to be part of GOFC.
Please note:
We have never conducted try out's for players and we don't intend to change that policy any time soon,
however, the club reserves the right to refuse permission for any player to play for GOFC.
Due to roster size, ability and availability of players etc., etc we can't in all circumstances simply
add a player just because they turn up. Previous experience with a player may also be a factor.
Please note:
We NEVER poach girls from other teams so if you're interested in playing for us and you're currently
playing for another team then please think carefully before switching. Talk to your parents and coaches before you approach us.
