R C Wessel Associates has been committed to remaining at the forefront of technology since the inception of the personal computer. Even before software was commercially available to the appraisal profession, we had developed our proprietary systems.

Today, most all professional appraisal firms generate appraisal forms with commercial software packages. R C Wessel Associates utilizes the best form generating software available, but further enhances it with our own proprietary software systems.

We have developed our own appraisal management software known as AMISS (appraisal management information systems and services). With AMISS we can track our assignment load, automatically send fax status updates to our clients, and reply by e-mail to those who are EDI ready. AMISS insures that we stay on top of our assignment load, and helps us maintain constant, clear and courteous communication with our clients. No other appraisal firm enjoys AMISS. We developed it as a proprietary software for our use only. Since we wrote AMISS we can also customize it to individual client needs.

Create-A-Comp is our most recent proprietary software development. Create-A-Comp integrates online and CD data sources with our forms software and photo database. Simply put, Create-A-Comp tremendously increases the efficiency and accuracy of our appraiser’s output. We have the ability to import comparables directly into our appraisal form. Also, when inspecting, our appraisers are aware of all comparable photos we have in the subject neighborhood. Comparable data is not exposed to typos which can easily occur when hand entering data. The second generation of Create-A-Comp is currently under development, and will implement artificial intelligence, assisting comparable selection.

R C Wessel Associates is fully EDI ready. We run a Windows 95 Pentium-based 125 megabit per second network, the kind of processing power you need for working with digital imaging. Our form software vendor is a la mud, Inc.. a la mud is on the committee developing the X12 standard format for data exchange in lending and appraisal. We will be constantly up to date with changes and revisions to this standard.

Some say EDI is right around the corner. We’ve already rounded the corner and are ready to help our clients negotiate this bend and any other changes in the road ahead.
