Chaz Cochinay
was many things. He was a warrior for our people. He was a
full-blood Apache descendant of other warriors, and was of the bear people.
He was born in Tontos, Arizona on April 1, 1949, and he died on February
26, 2001. Coch as his friends called him, was also a husband and father
who kept on the warrior path after losing both his wife and son fifteen years
ago. He was the kind of man who had strong beliefs and lived according to
those beliefs. Coch was a man who was respected and loved
by those who knew him,
and he was as gentle as he was strong.
