| After a lot of soul searching, we have closed our rescue doors. We will always be available for our adopters, but it is now time to spend time with my family and leave rescue. We will always take back any of our dogs that we have adopted out and remain available to our past adopters. My own dogs are now in their senior years and need our total attention. We will return to rescue some day, but will also refer potential adopters to other Dalmatian Rescues. Thank you so much for your support.
Dottie is still up for adoption. Please see her below.
We work diligently to place homeless Dalmatians in forever homes with the right loving
family. All of our Dalmatians are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested for heartworm,
and any other needs such as dental work are completed prior to adoption. We do pre-
and post adoption home checks. A veterinarian and personal references are required to
complete the adoption and a contract is signed. We encourage people to do research
before they commit to a breed as active as a Dalmatian. Dals are very people-oriented
and must live indoors as an integral part of a loving family. . I hope you'll bookmark
our home page and consider helping out if you can. If you are thinking of adopting a Dal yourself please do the
research first and be very sure that you and your household are suited to the special
needs of this wonderful and unique breed of dog. . |
Hi! My name is Dottie and I a 7-9 year old Dalmatian girl!
I hope you will take some time to read my story ... I've been through a lot and need an extra special home. I was adopted from a shelter and thought I had a good home, til they found out I was deaf. They just gave me away to another family and I hit the road and ran off. When I was found by a good samaritan, and she traced down where I lived, they no longer wanted me.
You see, not only am I deaf, but I also have what is known as Spondylosis Deformans Bascially, one of my vertebrea in my back created a bridge. I am in no pain, it is just something I live with. My fosters Mama has me on Glycoflex 3 and Vetri Disc(both very affordable supplements) that have given me my flexability back. I just walk a little sloopy when I have been laying too long, but once I get going, I walk/run perfectly fine.
Now that you know that bad stuff, let me tell you about the good stuff. I am VERY affectionate and absolutley will give you my heart and soul. I love to cuddle, be kissed on and will be your very best friend. I am great with kids and ok with dogs, but would be happy as an only dog child-I do have a tendency to chase cats, so maybe a home with no cats would be best. I am learning hand signals and am trying hard to find a new home that I can call my own. I am crate trained and housebroken(once we understand each other and I can let you know I have to go out) I bark VERY little and am a calm and quiet girl. Do you have the heart to give me a new home? I am spayed, current on all vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative.
The girl I am pictured with is Amanda. She is my sponsor and gave up birthtday presents in order to raise money to sponsor me. Thank you so very much Amanda for sacraficing so much to help me.
