How a model looks and presents herself
is the most basic foundation of any model's career. It is important
that all models not only learn how to do their everyday make-up, but also
experiment with different looks, colors and textures. It's a harsh fact
that 90 percent of the time a model will be on her own for make-up and
hair at most photo sessions.
Make-up and Hair stylists are only
provided on high budget shoots. Unless the photographer and make-up artist
are testing together for portfolio prints. It can be very cost prohibitive
for a model to hire her own make-up and hair stylists. These people get
$100.00 and up per "LOOK"!!!
It is best for a model to try a variety
of make-up brands and types, and learn how each affects her look in photographs.
Over time and experimentation, the model will learn how to present photographers,
and other prospective clients with looks that are both unique and commercial.
This will ultimately increase a model's marketability, and profitability.
While of course there are many varieties
of commercial make up brands available almost everywhere. I have found
a few websites offering some unique and some not so unique make-up products
that might be worth looking into for a unique look to improve your hire-ability!!!
