Aerodynamic Fairing
The CBRŪ1100XX fairing has been extensively wind-tunnel tested in order to give it an extraordinarily low overall frontal area and one of the lowest drag coefficients in motorcycling. In addition, it provides a high level of wind protection and rider comfort.
1,137cc DOHC Engine
An all-new lightweight 1137cc liquid-cooled 4-cylinder engine features a one-piece upper crankcase and cylinder block. A side-mounted cam chain drive and ultra-narrow cylinder sleeve spacing reduces engine size and weight. The cylinder head features straight intake ports that optimize breathing and intake efficiency at all engine speeds. The powerful and compact alternator is oil-cooled and the exhaust system is a 4-into-2-into-1-into-2 type with large, 6.4-liter canister-style stainless-steel mufflers.
Dual Balancer System
A unique gear-driven dual-shaft engine balancer system almost completely eliminates high-frequency engine vibration. A 6-speed, close-ratio transmission is standard.
Direct Actuation Valve Train
Double overhead camshafts actuate 4 valves per cylinder using simple and direct cam-over-bucket-type followers. A 30-degree included valve angle results in a compact combustion chamber.

42mm Flat-Slide Carburetors
High-flow 42mm flat-slide carburetors are electronically linked to the computerized ignition system for precise throttle response, smooth throttle transitions throughout the rev range and optimum performance. Carburetors are slanted to optimize intake flow to the combustion chambers.

Aluminum Frame
The CBRŪ1100XX features a highly rigid yet lightweight twin-spar, diamond-configuration frame. The frame extrusions are triple-box-section for added strength, and are welded to a cast-aluminum steering head. At its lower end, strong, lightweight die-cast-aluminum pivot plates mate to the swingarm.

HMAS Suspension System
43mm front forks and a wide, forged-aluminum triple clamp offer light weight and rigidity. The fork's Honda Multi-Action Suspension System (HMAS) has a smooth, progressive action.
Box-Section Swingarm
The triple-box-section extruded aluminum swingarm has exceptional rigidity and forms an integral part of the Pro-LinkŪ rear suspension system. An adjustable HMAS rear damper offers stepless rebound damping.
Linked Braking System
The CBRŪ1100XX features a new-generation Linked Brake System™ (LBS™) that gives the rider enhanced control and more confident ease of operation over irregular road surfaces, such as slippery downhill grades. LBS uses a second master cylinder and a proportioning valve to couple both front calipers and the rear caliper. Using either the handlebar lever or foot lever partially activates all three calipers to provide added braking force; however, the ride still controls brake force distribution between the front and rear wheels. The system also proportions more brake force to the front wheel as greater braking force is applied by the rider.
