Great Lakes Sea Kayak Club - Organizers of the well-attended annual symposium every July near Pictured Rocks in the Upper Peninsula. The club also publishes a newsletter five times a year.

Great Lakes Sea Kayak Symposium - Grand Marais, Michigan, usually late July - Run by the Great Lakes Sea Kayak Club. Well attended and in an unbeatable location.
West Michigan Coastal Kayak Symposium - near Muskegon, Michigan, usually Memorial Day weekend - Run by the West Michigan Coastal Kayakers Association. Appropriate for all skill levels and presents a comfortable learning environment. (The link is to the WMCKA site, you may have to search for it on there.)

Black Parrot Paddling Kayaking School - Conducts a wide variety of kayaking classes in the SE Michigan area for paddlers at all skill levels, also rents boats at Michigan kayaking symposiums. Eastern Michigan Kayaking Instruction - Pool sessions every Tuesday at EMU, plus river trips. Open to anyone, though requires you to join the EMU REC/IM program for about $120/year. Kayak rental available. Also a club with whitewater trips.
